Levy's 1997-98 NBA Season DLC

Welcome to the 1997-98 Season DLC! This is another project that took me months to finish and a few more months to update. As of February 2018, there is a new and final version of this MOD - so if you downloaded and paid for the Roster file in the past, you are welcome to re-download the missing parts and email me for the newest Roster file. I am glad this is finally done!

The whole 1997-98 MOD is based on the 96-97 mod (wrongly known to the gaming community as the 97-98 season) that was available on many 2K forums in the past. Apart from the graphical aspect, the mod was a fiasco, all player ratings were wrong, CFs were outdated or missing, the game was crashing because of ID conflicts etc. You won’t find those issues anymore, so here you are with a completely new mod! This DLC can be yours for $10 (lunch price in Europe). The fee is payable through PayPal - which is the most popular way to make payments online.

As always the biggest part of my job was the gameplay itself. You can find all the adjustments inside the Roster file (.ROS), part of them are related to players skills and tendencies, another part to Coaches Profiles. I managed to make everything run flawless after trying for so long to correct a few 2K Sports bugs like un-guardable player moves ("hopping" and "stepback jump shot") and shots especially the bankshot ("use glass") which players rarely missed. I also chose to eliminate the leaner and drifter shots from the game because they look ugly and unrealistic.

If you want to understand how my version of the game works, you should go to the How To Play The Game link on this blog. There are explanations about the Game Settings, Game (Active Coach Mode) Sliders and the Universal Coach Profile. Using your own settings and sliders will not give the results I intended with my Roster and the in-game formula! When paying for the MOD, you will get all those from me in an email.

In case you're interested in acquiring this mod, send me an email to leeunagi@gmail.com first and then I will provide you with my PayPal account where you can send your payment for this mod (and another mod that you might be interested, as there are discounts for acquiring more than 1 season package!). After I cleared your payment, I will send you an email containing the Roster file (.ROS).

           The 1997-98 Season DLC features:
- new transition screens in the menu with NBA pictures transformed in Photoshop and a new NBA ON TNT presentation mod/scoreboard plus a new halftime report screen; a younger version of Doris Burke within her picture; realistic upper body to legs ratio with accurate muscle definition (a first in 2K11 modding!), all in the new Global file
- correct arena names, roster and coaches with the latest NBA trades and transactions as the beginning of 1997-98 season on November 1st, 1997 including the All-Star players you can use in the Quick Play mode
- players with accurate bio (position, height, age, college, draft pick), appearance (eyes color, muscle & body type), skills and tendencies (including touches, isolation, post up, spot up etc.)
- in order to avoid unwanted bugs I chose to activate CHA Bobcats with historical players who were playing abroad/injured that year or simply missed the 97-98 season
- personalized arm/legs color, body shape for every coach & player
- tweaked a few player names so the announcers will call them by the name instead of "ABC"; also the players whose names are not on the 2K11 list and they can't be pronounced by the arena announcer were left open so you can use the in-game editor and pick one of the nicknames yourself but atm are set to "Money" which is one of the nicknames on the 2K list
- assigned team colors to each player’s shoes on the team roster and white/black accesories (white for dark skin, black for bright skin); this is the Shoe pack that I am using
- new round action style portraits for each player
- the complete 90s cyberface pack (a huge archive shared with my other project, the 92-93 Season DLC)
- correct logos for every team
- teams floors, many of them I had to adjust for accuracy reasons
- teams arenas, also re-done all of them myself by adding a brighter shotclock and nice crisp backboard with the "I love this game" and NBA ON TNT logos
- a unique arena which is shared by many teams in both mods
- teams crowds, made myself by adding 2 colored crowds using the predominant 2 colors of each home team
- classic dornas, made from actual dornas present in that era

Feel free to use my email leeunagi@gmail.com in case you have any questions. Of course I will ignore any stupid messages from people who are acting like trolls. So please be more open-minded and ask the right question(s) if you want to hear back from me. And of course, keep 2K11 running and have fun! ;)

And now let's check out a few screenshots!
